Burlington Little School Summer Programs
 
Fun and learning don't stop when the school year ends. Burlington Little School offers our special summer programs, organized as a series of one-week, themed "camps" for ages 3-8.  Our variety of exciting camps allows students to choose the times and topics that work best for them.  Many of our students want to take them all!

The child-centered, hands-on learning standards which form the core of our school-year curriculum are used to create the summer programs. Play, fun, and experimentation, partnered with rich learning environments, great teachers, and small class size make the summer program a hugely popular offering each year.

Fairies and Magic                June 27-July 1             9:00am-12:00 pm                      Ages 4-9

 Join us for a magical camp filled with the wonder and mystery of herbal potions and magical creations.  Enjoy learning about the kingdom of the Fae as we sew dream pillows with marvelous herbs, make herbal infusions designed to heal boo-boos and soothe sore spots as well as creating lovely flower fragrances, head wreathes, and other concoctions.  We will drink fairy flower tea and frolic in the summer sun.  Feel free to come dressed as a fairy if you're really feeling the fairy spirit.

 Campo de Español        July 5-8                       9:00am-3:00 pm                       Ages 4-9   Learn Spanish through culturally appropriate games, songs, stories and conversations. We will cook, dance and experience the fun of a bilingual world.

 Back Yard 101             July 11-15                     9:00am-12:00pm                       Ages: 3-5

This camp will help your child reconnect with nature on our acre backyard.  They will discover all the incredible live creatures and activities there are to do, even in your own backyard.  The morning will consist of hands-on activities from planting seeds and discovering insects to creating forts for themselves and fairies.

Backyard 101 plus 201           July 11-15                     9:00am-3:00pm                 Ages: 6-9

 In addition to Backyard 101 activities, the afternoons will be spent with an in-depth study of the activities we engaged with early in the day.  This will include drawing what we saw and reflecting on our experiences from the morning.

 Does your child like picnics?  Playing outside?  Experimenting with sand and water?  Cooking? Getting messy with art projects?  Come join the Toddler Summer Playschool class.

 All About Art                     July 25-29                   9:00am-12:00pm                       Ages: 4-9

 Find your inner artist with clay, paint, and chalk. Come help create sculptures and transform the bike shed!

 Photography Fun               August 1-5                9:00am-12:00pm                    Ages: 4-9        

 Let’s put a child and a digital camera together and see what develops!  Pictures of animals, plants and friends will come home in many forms. Join in a week that is “picture perfect”!

 Animals All Around             August 8-12                  9:00am-12:00pm                   Ages: 4-9

 See animals through the eyes of a veterinarian!  Check out horses, hawks and hamsters in our very own backyard.

 Hey Farmer!                        August 15-19                9:00am-3:00pm                        Ages: 4-9

 Harvest food from our own organic veggie garden bake some goodies with the food we are growing, make art from food and create a stepping stone.
